No. 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards exploded for 18 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter on Thursday to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 126-114 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Edwards finished the contest by converting on 10-of-19 shots from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, in 34 minutes of work. The performance marked his 14th 25-point game of the season, the most by a rookie this season.

With the Timberwolves next up on Saturday, Edwards concluded the month of April averaging 21.6 points per game. His 44 3-pointers in April are the most by a rookie during a single month in NBA history, topping the 43 by Landry Shamet in March 2019.

Behind Edwards’ monster fourth-quarter effort, the Timberwolves managed to put the Warriors away for their fourth straight win. Edwards, along with the rest of the team, has played exceptionally as of late and the Timberwolves are rolling for the first time this season.

With the season winding down, Edwards is showing the NBA awards voters why he deserves to be the Rookie of the Year and it should be fun to watch him over the last eight games of the year.
