Kevin Durant believes that all 3 European superstars in the league – Giannis, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic – are unguardable.
Nikola Jokic is the red-hot favorite to win the NBA’s MVP award. The Serbian big man has been one of the league’s most unique players all through his time in America.
As a 7-foot center capable of orchestrating the offense, Jokic is truly unique as a point center. The Nuggets have been on a tear after starting the season off 6-7. Denver holds a 38-17 record in its past 4 months. In fact, they’ve only lost 3 games since losing Jamal Murray for the year.
Giannis, on the other hand, is the 2-time defending MVP of the NBA, and for good reason. As far as unguardable physical specimens go, the Greek Freak is right up there in all of basketball history.
Antetokounmpo combines freaky length and athleticism with a monstrous physique. He’s a bully down low, and there’s no defender on the planet who can stop him on 1v1 for any reasonable length of time.
Luka Doncic, meanwhile, has cemented his status as the league’s future MVP, and with good reason. The Slovenian’s ability to score and facilitate is right up there with the GOATs of the game. It is absolutely no exaggeration to say Luka’s on a top-1o all time trajectory.
Kevin Durant says guarding Giannis, Nikola Jokic or Luka Doncic is impossible
Kevin Durant himself knows a thing or two about being unguardable, having won 4 scoring titles in a 5-year span. The Slim Reaper recently faced all 3 MVP candidates back-to-back.
KD understands just how difficult it is to guard scorers such as these three European superstars. He said as much in post-game comments after the Nets’ triumph over Denver last night:
“You can’t stop none of these guys: Giannis, Doncic, Jokic.”

Love it. Paying homage to the next generation.

All 3 of these superstars produced MVP-caliber performances in their recent games against Brooklyn. The Nets barely managed to snap their 4-game losing streak last night. They’ll be hoping and praying for James Harden to return from hamstring trouble as soon as possible.
