"Damian Lillard with a crazy first half in Game 2 vs Nuggets": Blazers superstar knocks down 8 three-pointers... - The Sportsrush

Damian Lillard scores 32 points and knocks down 8 three-pointers in the first half against Denver, tying Vince Carter for the Playoffs record.

Damian Lillard has established himself as one of the best players in the whole league. Over the past couple of years, Dame has managed to knock down shots with high consistency, putting him among the group of all-time elite shooters.

This season too, Lillard has had a great year while leading his team to the 7th seed in the West with a 42-30 record, just enough to avoid the controversial play-in tournament. As a first round playoffs matchup, Portland Trail Blazers face MVP candidate Nikola Jokic and his Denver Nuggets.

Looking more determined than ever, Dame Dolla had an incredible 34-point and 13-assists double-double, while blowing out the Nuggets 123-109.

Coming off a great away win, Lillard started off Game 2, looking even more deadly. Torching Denver in the first half, the Blazers superstar erupted for 32 points in just 22 minutes of play, while hitting 8 three-pointers.

Damian Lillard ties legend Vince Carter for NBA Playoffs record knocking down 8 three-pointers in a half

Dame has been known for breaking records and making history quite often. With his incredible first half performance, Lillard tied the NBA Playoffs record for the most number of three-pointers in a half.

Naturally, one would assume that Lillard must’ve tied the GOAT shooter Stephen Curry who must’ve held the record. Back in 2001, it was legend Vince Carter who knocked down 8 three-pointers too, against Philadelphia.

While scoring 32 points in the half, the Blazers leader is the only player with multiple 30-point first halves in the playoffs, over the past 15 years. The six-time All-Star is now only 3 three-pointers away from tying Klay Thompson’s Playoffs record with the most number of threes.

With an entire half still left to play, it won’t be any surprise if Lillard manages to knock more than 3 threes, and create history yet again. With Denver leading Portland 73-61 at the half, Dame’s top priority would be coming back and winning the game at any cost.

If the 6-foot-2 keeps playing the way he has been, the Nuggets will be in for a long and difficult best-of-seven series.
