SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Rudy Gobert blocked a shot by MVP candidate and Nuggets star Nikola Jokić late in Utah’s win over Denver.
The Jazz hosted the Nuggets on Friday, May 7.
Utah won the game, 127-120.
With 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter, Gobert swatted a seven-foot hook shot by the MVP hopeful.
Jazz forward Joe Ingles collected the rebounds and pushed the ball ahead to Jordan Clarkson, who connected on a 25-foot three-pointer.
Clarkson’s triple stretch Utah’s lead to 117-111.
Gobert would finish the game with 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks in 35 minutes.
Jokić had 24 points, nine rebounds, 13 assists, and a block in 35 minutes.
With the win, the Jazz improved their NBA-best record this season to 49-18, including 30-4 at home.
Utah’s next contest is home game is against the Houston Rockets on Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.
