All-Star guard Kyrie Irving has been ruled out of the remainder of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the Milwaukee Bucks due to a sprained right ankle.

While the Nets entered the game with a 2-1 series lead, they were already without their other All-Star guard in James Harden, who has missed all but the first 43 seconds of the series with a right hamstring strain.

Kyrie Irving injury timeline
Irving suffered the injury on a drive midway through the second quarter of Game 4. After a missed contested layup, Irving he landed on the foot of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and remained down as the ball went the other way.
Brooklyn called a timeout, Irving exited the floor on his own power and was ruled out during the halftime break.

His status for the remainder of the series is dependent on the severity of the sprain.

While Irving missed 18 of a possible 72 games in the 2020-21 season, nine were for personal reasons.
Of the other nine games missed (face, groin, shoulder, back, finger, rest), none were due to an ankle issue. Irving had appeared in each of the Nets' first nine playoff games in 2021.
