Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
The Spurs missed the playoffs this year, but both coaches tonight have history in San Antonio, with Monte Williams and Mike Budenholzer having spent time in the Spurs organization. The only former Spurs player on the court tonight will be Bryn Forbes, taking some long range shots in limited minutes off the bench. The biggest question of the night is the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is still recovering from a sprained knee that he received in the Atlanta series. The Bucks were able to beat the Hawks without the services of Giannis, and while they still have Thanasis, that may not be enough to stop Chris Paul and the talent-loaded Suns. Khris Middleton has been incredible for the Bucks, but he’s going to have to dominant to offset Devin Booker and the emerging DeAndre Ayton, who is starting to show he was deserving of the first overall pick in 2018.
[For the Bucks]
It was beer that made Milwaukee famous, but it’s a deer that we came to trust, they traveled to the land of a burning Sun, and with Giannis, they got the job done.
[For the Suns]
The suns do things by the Book, so tonight they’ll be on the Ball, wherever you look, there goes Chris Paul.
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!! Yeah, they aren’t playing tonight, but you can still back the Silver and Black tonight. Go Forbes. Go Monte. Go Bud!
