NBA fans pick Suns in Finals, Chris Paul for Finals MVP - Silver Screen and Roll

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in Los Angeles Lakers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

The Phoenix Suns took a 2-0 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals on Thursday, but even before their latest win, NBA fans were confident the Suns were going to win the series.

According to this week’s SB Nation Reacts, 70% of NBA fans believes that the Suns are going to beat the Bucks. However, as confident as the fans that participated in the survey are in the Suns, hardly any of them think that Phoenix is going to sweep the Bucks. Most fans think the Suns will win in six games.

If the Suns do win the Finals, there will be a healthy debate over who deserves to win the Finals MVP. Devin Booker has been the team’s leading scorer through the playoffs, but more than half of the fans were surveyed think Paul — the Suns’ second-leading scorer and assists-leader — deserves to win Finals MVP.

If the Bucks win, it will likely be due to the efforts of two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the fans agree. Whoever wins the Finals MVP, whether it’s Booker, Paul, Antetokounmpo, will be a first-time winner. In fact, there’s only one player in the Finals that has been in the Finals before and that’s Jae Crowder, who played for the Miami Heat last year. Lakers fans know how that one ended.

Would it sting to watch the Suns win the title knowing that the Lakers were the last team to have a series lead over them? Yes, but hopefully it fuels the players to have a strong comeback season next year.
