NBA Fans congratulate Nate McMillan for signing a well-deserved four-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks as their head coach.
The Atlanta Hawks had one of their best season in recent history. Despite their fair shares of downs, the Hawks finished their 2020-2021 campaign on a huge high. After going 14-20, to start the season, Atlanta had to fire then-coach Lloyd Pierce, hiring Nate McMillan as the interim head coach.
Behind McMillan’s leadership, Trae Young and co. had an outstanding 27-11 record, to finish their regular season with an impressive 41-31 record to place them 5th in the East.
Entering their first playoffs since the 2016-2017 season, the Hawks were the underdogs, who were expected to go past the Knicks into the second round at the most. However, a determined Atlanta team not only defeated Julius Randle’s NYK but also handed title-contenders Philadelphia 76ers, a huge upset to enter their first ECF appearance in six years.

Even though the Hawks fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Conference Finals, they proved themselves to be a tough team. Even without any All-Star selections, behind the leadership of a 22-year-old Trae Young, the Hawks now have put the league on notice.
After a successful campaign, the Hawks organisation awarded Nate McMillan, by shedding his “interim” title and signing him on a four-year permanent deal.
NBA fans, especially Atlanta fans, couldn’t be happier learning about the signing. As soon as the deal was announced, fans congratulated McMillan.

Only 4 years after taking over a team that was dead in the water to the conference finals? Black coaches I swear gets undervalued. He should’ve gotten at least 5-6 year deal. Dude is a a hell of a coach.
