MANILA, Philippines—Olympic medalists Hidilyn Diaz and Eumir Felix Marcial received housing units in their hometown Zamboanga City.
The two athletes were awarded house and lot units at Barangay Cabaluay last Sept. 2, the Western Mindanao Command said on Monday (Sept. 6).
Both athletes are active enlisted personnel of the Philippine Air Force. Diaz is the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist after winning the women’s 55kg category for weightlifting in the pandemic-delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Marcial brought home a bronze medal from the men’s boxing middleweight division.
