Ray Parks gets better of Kiefer Ravena as Nagoya drubs Shiga by 39 points - GMA News Online

Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins handily defeated Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars, 107-68, at the Park Arena Komaki on Saturday in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).

Parks led his team with 22 points, shooting 9-for-15 from the field for a 60-percent clip. He also collected four rebounds and four assists in an all-around performance.

Ravena, meanwhile, finished with just five points and struggled with his shot, going 1-for-13 (7.7%) in the contest. He also had two rebounds and three assists.

Nagoya got off to huge 18-4 start thanks in large part to Parks, who scored seven of those points.

Ravena, on his end, tried his best to disrupt Nagoya’s early dominance, scoring one of Shiga’s only two baskets in that opening run. He would also hit two free throws and set up Ovie Soko for another basket for four unanswered points late that cut a 15-point deficit down to 11, 23-12, at the end of the first period.

But the script wasn’t much different in the second quarter as the Dolphins scored nine unanswered points as part of another 18-4 blast that made it a 23-point lead, 43-20. The half ended with Nagoya ahead, 53-32.

Parks scored 10 points in the first quarter and had 16 by halftime.

There was no letup for Nagoya in the second half as they continued to outscore Shiga in every quarter, including a 28-16 difference in the fourth.

With the win, Nagoya moved past .500 in the win-loss column with a 4-3 card. Meanwhile, Shiga absorbed only their second loss against five wins.

The two teams face off again on Sunday, October 24.
