Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant traded verbal blows at a fiery weigh-in ahead of their title fight on Saturday night.
However, the pair were kept at a safe distance from each other after September’s pre-fight event turned violent.
Pound-for-pound king Canelo cut his rival’s face two months ago after being confronted, postponing the Las Vegas grudge match until tonight.
While no fists flew at Friday’s weigh-in, the two fighters had plenty to say as heavyweight legend Mike Tyson watched on from the crowd.
Tipping the scales at 168lbs, Canelo told Showtime Sports: “I said, ‘You will see tomorrow. It’s time’.
“Like I say before, for every action, there’s a reaction.
“I feel blessed, I feel motivated for all my fans. It means a lot.”
Plant, who weighed in at 167lbs, said: “Agree to disagree.
“We’re going to find out Saturday night though. I promise you that.
“I love it, you can cheer for him all you want, you can boo for me all you want.
“It’s easy to sit in those seats, it ain’t easy to stand up here. Remember that.
“I was born for this. This is my destiny.”
Tyson had his fair share of explosive clashes before entering the ring with his opponents during a glittering career.
And Canelo had a message for his hero in the crowd.
The Mexican said: “He was a great fighter, a legend.
“I’m going to be like him one day. It means a lot.”
