James Harden becomes the fourth player with 2,500+ three-pointers ever - MARCA.com

James Harden is no Steph Curry when it comes to three-pointers but he is pretty damn close to him in the all-time greats list. Earlier in November, the Golden State Warriors star passed Ray Allen as the all-time sharp shooter in NBA history. He got past the 3,358 that the mythical player got throughout his entire career. James Harden was at 2,486 three-pointers in regular season. Tonight against the New York Knicks, he reached the mythical 2,500 mark that only another three players got. Apart from Curry and Allen, Reggie Miller is the other player who got there. The record Curry broke is all-time three-pointer, this includes playoffs as well. During regular season, Steph is also close to Allen's record of 2,973.

Can Harden ever reach Steph Curry's numbers?

That's a big no but still, James Harden can definitely finish his career just below Steph Curry as the greatest shooter in NBA history. He is only 39 away from Miller in the all-time list and 60 behind him in the regular season list. But let's be honest, no NBA player can deliver Steph Curry's numbers. In terms of sharp-shooting, the Golden State Warriors star is simply too much to handle. A cheat code if you will. However, this doesn't take away anything from what James Harden has done until this point of his professional career. He is still a generational talent who will likely end above the 3,000 line but just below Steph.

Harden only needs an NBA championship.

In terms of collective accolades, James Harden still hasn't won the NBA championship despite his impressive resume. Going to the Brooklyn Nets was a decision motivated by this lack of rings on his fingers. However, James is still in danger of becoming one of those Hall-of-Famers who might never lift a trophy with any of the teams he represented. Although this latest tenure with the Nets might just be what he's been looking for so long. 'The Beard' might be one of the most impressive players in modern times but not winning a championship has to sting.

Adblock test (Why?)
