The multi-time world champion took advantage of some miscues by the hometown bet during their semifinal match held at the Ha Dong Gymnasium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Amit will face Singapore’s Jessica Tan, who rolled to a 7-2 win over Vietnam’s Bich Tram Nguyen in the other semis match.

Jefrey Roda also advanced to the final of the men’s snooker 6-red singles following a 5-4 victory over Malaysia’s Keen Hoo Moh.

Roda gets his shot at a first-ever gold against Malaysia’s Kok Leong Lim, a 5-2 win over Thailand’s Suchakpee Poomjang.

Both Amit and Roda vie for the gold Tuesday afternoon at the same venue.

Carlo Biado arranged a semifinal showdown with a familiar foe in Singapore’s Aloysius Yapp after his 9-3 win over Myanmar’s Thaw Zin Htet in men’s 9-ball singles.

Biado faces Yapp, the same player he beat during last year’s final of the US Open Pool Championship in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Yapp progressed after defeating Thailand’s Preecha Boonmoung, 9-4.

Johann Chua also reached the men’s 9-ball semis with a 9-4 victory over Dang Thanh Kien.

Francisco dela Cruz beat Thailand’s Sompol Saetang to reach the semis of the men’s 1-carom event.

Biado, Chua, Dela Cruz and Efren “Bata” Reyes, who earlier gained a place in the men’s 1-carom semis, are each assured of going home with at least a bronze medal.
