DE LA SALLE-College of Saint Benilde dominated Mapua University, 25-17, 25-11, 25-12, to stay unbeaten in five games in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 97 women's volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena on Tuesday.
Mycah Go starred for the Lady Blazers as she tallied 12 points and 10 excellent receptions in the quickest match of the season yet, lasting for only one hour and seven minutes.
Jade Gentapa and Gayle Pascual contributed 12 and nine points, respectively, as Cloanne Mondoñedo tossed 18 excellent sets.
Mondoñedo also logged 10 digs and six points for the league-leading team which stretched its winning run to 12 games dating back to Season 95.
The contest was never close as Saint Benilde asserted its dominance over Mapua right from the start. After winning the first two sets, the Lady Blazers zoomed to a 10-3 start in the third which later became 24-11 following a Gentapa drop.
The Lady Cardinals saved one match point before Mondoñedo finished off the match with a kill.
Therese Manalo scored seven points to pace the Lady Cardinals, who dropped to a 3-2 record, tied with Lyceum of the Philippines University at the fourth spot of the standings.
Trixie Gojol dishes out eight excellent sets while Wellmae Ortega logged 17 excellent digs and five excellent receptions.
