Penn State Fencing Announces 2022-23 Schedule - Penn State University Athletics - Penn State Athletics

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lion men's and women's fencing teams, under the direction of interim head coach Adam Kaszubowski, have announced their 2022-23 schedule. The Nittany Lions host three events this year, including the Garret Penn State Open in November. Please note all dates and times are subject to change.
 
Penn State begins it season in full with select fencers heading to the NAC/Division 1-Cadet tournament in Minneapolis, Minn., on Oct. 7-10. The next weekend, Penn State hosts the Nittany Lion Open Cup on Oct. 15-16. The event will begin at 10 a.m. each day in the White Building.  Penn State treks to Philadelphia for the Temple Open on Oct. 29-30 to close out the first month of the schedule.
 
The Nittany Lions will host the Garret Penn State Open in the White Building on Saturday and Sundya, Nov. 5-6. Action will begin at 8 a.m. each day (time tentative). The Nittany Lions then prep for their first dual series event of the year, heading to Sacred Heart on Dec. 4 to battle the host school, NYU, Harvard, Princeton, Vassar and NJIT (m).  Select Nittany Lions will take part in the Olympic Trials/Division 1-Junior-Cadet in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Dec. 9-12.
 
The new year begins with the NAC/Division 1-Junior tournament in Louisville, Ky., on Jan. 6-9. A week later, Penn State hosts its dual event series, welcoming Penn, Temple (w), North Carolina, Columbia, Haverford, Duke and Yale on Jan. 15. The home series begins at 8:30 a.m.  The Nittany Lions continue dual action the next week, visiting St. John's on Jan. 21 to tangle with SJU, Columbia, Harvard, Notre Dame and Ohio State.  Select Nittany Lions will take part in the W.S. World Cup on Jan. 27-29 in Salt Lake City.
 
Penn State heads to Duke on Feb. 11-12 for a dual series against the Blue Devils, North Carolina, Brandeis, Air Force, Johns Hopkins (m) and Temple (w). The Nittany Lions close out the regular season at Temple for duals against the Owls (w), St. John's, Princeton, Penn, Johns Hopkins and Stevens Tech (m).
 
The post-season begins with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals on March 11 at a site to be determined. Penn State's NCAA qualifiers then head to Durham, N.C., for the 2023 NCAA Championship on Thursday through Sunday, March 23-26.
