The Timberwolves have been holding steady out West, just 3.0 games back of fourth place and putting pressure on the Clippers and Warriors for the final two playoff slots.
But avoiding the Play-In Tournament could be tougher without All-Star guard Anthony Edwards, who sprained his right ankle Friday vs. the Bulls. Driving to his right in the 1st quarter, the 21-year-old twisted and rose for a jump bass back toward the left wing, tweaking his right ankle on the landing and immediately crumpling.
After grabbing at the foot and grimacing, Edwards was helped off the floor and initially ruled ‘questionable’ to return before being ruled out at halftime. He played 8:05 before the injury, scoring 8 points on 3-for-4 shooting.
Update on Ant:
He will not return to tonight’s ball game.
Wolves up 5 as we start the 3rd quarter.
