Bolick waxes hotter with 46 pts, leads NLEX past Converge - PBA.ph

Robert Bolick is a man on fire in his PBA comeback.

Four games into Season 48 Philippine Cup, Bolick has positioned himself on top as the league scoring leader and his team among the early front runners with a strong 3-1 win-loss start.

Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Bolick exploded for a career high 46 points, leading NLEX to a 115-93 rout of hapless Converge.

The former San Beda King Lion, back in the PBA after a short stint in the Japan B. League, was like a man in mission, consistently a prolific scorer with the Road Warriors.

He poured in 29 points in each of their first two games, 26 in their third outing before waxing hotter with 46 against the FiberXers - a league season high for a local, an all-time franchise best for a local and the most by any local player since Stanley Pringle's 50 back in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup.

Sponsored content: Bolick was 17-of-26 from the field and 5-of-12 from the arc while also collecting eight assists and five rebounds as the Road Warriors got going with a second straight win and third in four games in all, counting earlier triumphs over NorthPort (107-100) and Meralco (99-96).

A lone loss came at the hands of Terrafirma, 99-95, in a close battle.

Meanwhile, Converge is now 0-4 in the tourney and 1-14 in the season.

Rob Herndon, Jan Nermal and Baser Amer shared double-digit outputs for the Road Warriors who shook up a sluggish start and blasted the FiberXers in the second half on the way to the big 22-point triumph.

Herndon also had five three-point conversions and finished with 17 points that went with five rebounds and three assists, Nermal continued to make good impression with 13 markers while Amer pitched in 10 plus three assists and the same number of rebounds.

But then they faded away, allowing the Road Warriors a 30-24 salvo in the second, a 30-19 binge in the third and a 31-22 tear in the fourth. (SB)
