Defending UFC light heavyweight world champion Alex Pereira made a successful defense of his title in his rematch against Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303 on Sunday (Philippine time) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Pereira, 36, gauged his opponent in the early going allowing Prochazka to press the action.
Before the round ended, the hard-hitting Brazilian caught his foe with his signature left hook that sent Prochazka crashing to the canvas but was saved by the bell.
Pereira did not waste time in the following stanza, finishing the job with a head kick followed by a barrage of punches that prompted the referee to halt the contest at the 0:13 mark of round two.
The highlight-reel stoppage improved Pereira's mixed martial arts record to 11-2 while Prochazka dropped to 30-5-1.
