Steph Curry passes Wilt Chamberlain as Warriors leading scorer - Golden State of Mind

Steph Curry has etched his name into many pages of the Golden State Warriors history book, and he’ll etch his name into many more.

And on Monday night, he wrote one of the most memorable chapters. In the first quarter of the Warriors game against the Denver Nuggets, Curry found his way to the rim for a layup. That gave him 19 points on the game (not bad for a first quarter).

With those points, Curry passed the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, and become the all-time scoring leader in Warriors franchise history.

What an accomplishment.

We’ve known for quite a while that Curry would end up atop the franchise leaderboard in scoring, it was just a matter of when. With that question answered, it now becomes a matter of just how many points he’ll gather before he decides to hang up his Under Armours.

Chamberlain’s record held for nearly 60 years, and Curry’s might as well. Maybe even longer.

Congrats, Steph. You’re the greatest player in franchise history.
